The course is taught with two textbooks, World History (Glencoe) and Economics (Glencoe), and two eBooks Africa, Asia, Russia (Warner) and Free Enterprise at Work (Warner). Students write an Asian History term paper in the fall and take part in the Management Game in the spring.

The Management Game is a simulation of business enterprises in Asia. Three players represent a US company and manufacture products or provide services for sale in one of the countries studied in the fall. Students use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, the Internet, and library sources for the research involved.
