Homework: Write 10 words as you can that start with the letter "c" but make an "s" sound in the beginning, as in "cease" and "certainly". Next, write 10 words can that start with the letter "k" but have an "n" sound, such as "know" or "knife".

Tuesday

In Class: A little bit of spelling, Introduction Short Stories (Plot, Symbol, Theme), More African Culture and Diaspora

Write a summary of the story describing the events using the most powerful words you can. This will be graded using the "Powerful Words" Rubric handed out in class.

Homework: Finish reading "The Cask of Amontillado" and and answer questions on the blog. Finish your summary of "The Cat Came Back"

Homework: Finish reading "Ms Brill" and and write 3 sentences on the blog.

Thursday

In Class: Vocab Quiz Lesson 10, Current Events, 1 Period of Short stories: Point of View and Irony

Homework:  Spend 20 minutes writing your version of "The Three Little Pigs", finish for this coming Tuesday. Read Pages 137-142 in History Alive! due tomorrow. Bring in History Alive! textbook to class.
