Event Description
Virgil's Aeneid During the fall we will read selections in both English and Latin from Virgil's poem about the Roman hero Aeneas.

Oral Recitation of Virgil's Aeneid In addition to reading from the Aeneid, you will also memorize the first 10 lines of the poem and recite them from memory before the class.  If you do particularly well, you may have the opportunity to do your recitation during and honored performers assembly.

National Latin Exam In early March you will have a chance to compete with Latin students from across the United States on a test covering Latin language and Roman culture.  We will spend some time reviewing and if you score well, you have a chance to win a medal or certificate.

Roman Army Project During April and May we will study the Roman army and you will be part of a group presentation that discusses some aspect of the Roman army.

End of the year Latin Party To celebrate the end of the year we will have a party in Latin class and you will have an opportunity to wear the helmet.
