The study of Spanish begins in the fifth grade at Town School.
The class meets three times per week. The class is designed to introduce
the student to the language and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
The class is taught primarily in Spanish and students are expected and
encouraged to be active participants in the learning process. The material
is presented in a variety of ways in addition to classroom instruction.
Through songs, videos, tapes and various multimedia projects, new material
is presented and reviewed. New material is presented and practiced daily
and reviewed weekly.
Students develop the language skills of listening, speaking,
reading and writing Spanish in a gradual logical progression
