Science 8 Projects
Newton Laws Project - '06 At the
end of October, the 8th grade Physical Science classes studied
Newton's Laws of Motion. As a culminating activity, the students will
begin their 2nd Annual Newton's Law Vehicle Project starting at the
beginning of November. This project will be spanned across a month of
individual and group assignments on top of creating their vehicles. Here is the
Newton Law Project Rubric. Also included is a look at last year's 8th grades classes
and their hard work throughout the
whole project on the compilation,
Newton Laws Project CD 2005. Our 2nd Annual Brian Corvo Newton
Invitational will be held on December 5, 2006 during the 8th grade double
periods. All grade levels are encouraged to come and support our students
hard work and achievements!!!!!
Rube Goldberg Crazy Patent Design Project and the Inventor
Wanted Poster 2007!!!! The 8th Grade is proud to
show off their knowledge of work and simple machines by creating the wacky
and zany
Rube Goldberg Patent Designs for their 3rd Quarter Project. They
will have the opportunity to work, mentor, and facilitate this project along
with the 2nd graders who will act as their "creative" source. They
will create the design and come before the "Patent" Board for their
approvall!!!!! If you need help with remembering mechanical advantage of

Mechanical Advantage of Simple Machines Guide. We will end the Simple Machines Unit, with a
creative
Inventor Wanted Poster, in which they will research an inventor
from different genres, cultures, and genders, who have pioneered and
revolutionized the world in which we live in with their inventions. The
posters should be turned in on Feb. 27th, to be displayed around the Science
Wing of the school!!!! |
