Town’s faculty is comprised of teachers who are highly educated themselves, and who act as role models for the students in their own enthusiasm and curiosity in the classroom. Our teachers are proven professionals who truly love teaching.
Town’s teachers remain at the forefront of education by taking advantage of opportunities to attend seminars and workshops, visit and collaborate with other schools, and pursue advanced degrees. The school affords them the chance to take advantage of innovative and exhilarating professional development opportunities such as the California Academy of Sciences’ Teacher Institute on Science and Sustainability, the Responsive Classroom, Project Zero, Lime Design and the Exploratorium.
Town's New Teacher Institute, a two-year internship program, contributes as well to the educational quality at Town School. Interns bring energy, creativity and resourcefulness to the classroom while the head teachers benefit from the professional challenge of mentoring, and their students benefit from a favorable student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1.
