Citation Help

Books

We have short, information-packed books on the following volcanoes:

  • Mount Kilauea

The library also has a number of books on volcanoes in general. These include:

  • Earth Afire: Volcanoes and Their Activity, by R.V. Fodor (1981).

  • Volcano and Earthquake, by Susanna van Rose (1992).
  • Volcanoes, by Dennis Fradin (1982)

A website maintained by the Oregon State University Department of Geosciences.  All articles and photographs are submitted by experts in the field of volcanology.

An excellent website for information on volcanoes in North America.

An excellent, searchable database of volcanoes worldwide, maintained by the Smithsonian Institution.  Be sure to click on the sidebar links to maps, photos, charts, and data. This should probably be your #1 resource for volcano info!

A database of world volcano information, provided by Michigan Technological University.

 

Article Databases

These library databases will help you locate electronic version of newspaper, magazine, and encylopedia articles about your volcano. If you are using these databases off-campus, you will need a password. Any wild guesses as to what it might be?
