Community Service
Overview Service Projects Calendar

Overview

Community service at Town School begins with a recognition and understanding of the concept of community. The boys are taught about the community that exists in the classroom, the school, the broader community, and the world at large. The essence of the community service program at Town is to provide an experience so positive and meaningful that it instills in the spirit of each boy a life-long commitment to the well-being of his greater community. With this in mind, the school fosters citizenship and respect for others through its Mission Statement, addresses developing a strong community service program in its Long-Range Plan, and has created the following Mission Statement specifically for community service.

COMMUNITY SERVICE MISSION STATEMENT
The goal of community service at Town School for Boys is to provide opportunities for boys to actively contribute to and enrich the broader community in which they live. Learning through service allows students to realize that they can make a difference in their world.

Town School provides a wide variety of community service opportunities for its students, faculty, staff, and parents. The school strives to provide meaningful experiences that allow the boys to see a direct connection between their actions and the impact on their community.

Through Town's Community Service program, the school has been fortunate to work with and help many varied and diverse organizations. A recent sampling includes:
