The Outdoor Education Program is designed to enhance class spirit and unity while learning some principles of life and physical science. Available to fifth-eighth graders, each class takes an annual overnight trip to points of interest in California:

• Marin Headlands for fifth graders, where students hike in the coastal habitat and learn about the marine environment for three days, under the leadership of the Headlands Institute.
• Sequoia-King's Canyon National Parks for sixth graders, where students hike or cross-country ski in the Sierra for four days, guided by Naturalists at Large.
• Pinnacles National Monument for seventh graders, where students hike and rock climb for four days, guided by Naturalists at Large.
• Yosemite National Park for eighth graders, where students hike and camp in the High Sierra and study Native American culture in the Valley for six days, directed by the Yosemite Institutes.
