Teachers bring their own enthusiasm and curiosity in the classroom, thereby acting as role models for the students. They remain at the forefront of their profession by taking advantage of opportunities to attend seminars and workshops, visit and collaborate with other schools, and pursue advanced degrees. Town encourages teachers to take advantage of professional development opportunities including the Responsive Classroom (Northeast Foundation for Children), Developmental Designs (Origins), Mosaic, Project Zero (Harvard), Design Thinking (Lime Design, Stanford d.School, Challenge Based Learning (Apple), and Inquiry-based Instruction (Exploratorium and California Academy of Sciences).

Town's New Teacher Institute, a two-year internship program, contributes to the educational quality and professional enthusiasm at Town School. Interns bring energy, creativity and resourcefulness to the classroom and head teachers benefit from the professional challenge of mentoring.
