Kate Callan has a BA from Notre Dame de Namur in Elementary Education with a minor in Literature. She completed the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Program with San Jose State and is conducting coursework in a Liberal Arts Master program at Stanford University.

Which of the Town School values (respect, curiosity, belonging, integrity and joy) do you most identify with, and why?

I most identify with curiosity. I love to learn, ask questions, and explore. I wonder about people, nature, animals, and myself too. I taught kindergarten for several years and what I miss the most about that experience was how contagious their curiosity was. Being around open fascination with the world and all the things in it taught me a lot about what it means to be curious and I've tried really hard to hold onto that.

What are your hobbies outside of school?

Reading, cooking, music, and hiking.
