Mona holds a BA from the University of California Berkeley with a double major in Music and Sociology. She also has a MA from Harvard Graduate School of Education with an emphasis on administration, planning and social policy.

Which of the Town School values (respect, curiosity, belonging, integrity and joy) do you most identify with, and why?

I really appreciate that belonging is one of Town's values! As someone with bicultural roots, it was always fun to learn about other people's cultures growing up in San Francisco since the Bay Area offers such rich diversity. Now, as a parent who is raising two bi-racial boys, I am ever mindful of how important it is to be intentional about inclusivity and respectful of other's unique experiences.

What are your hobbies outside of school?

Hiking, visiting museums, eating pastries, gardening.
