Rollie Warner holds a BA in History from Yale, with an emphasis on Chinese History. He was commissioned in the Navy, with duty comprising Communications & Stores/Commissary Officer on USS Sussex (AK 213) in Hawaii, Japan, and shore duty in Vietnam with the French Foreign Legion. He attended Harvard Law School for one year before deciding that his interests lay elsewhere. He went on to receive his MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, is a Certified Financial Planner, and a Registered Investment Advisor with the SEC. Rollie has taught at Town since 1963, including history, math, and economics - and imparting many life lessons along the way.
Which of the Town School values (respect, curiosity, belonging, integrity and joy) do you most identify with, and why?
Integrity seems to be lacking so much today in the public arena, and that is the significant one in that list for me. Integrity is really essential in the world of finance.
What are your hobbies outside of school?
I collect model electric trains; I have one 26‘ x 10’ system. I build ship models, and have an investment program called The Pomegranate Group, named for my favorite tree up here in Manteca. I also enjoy reading about history and math.
