Flora Mugambi Mutunga has a B.Sc and an MA in Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Which of the Town School values (respect, curiosity, belonging, integrity and joy) do you most identify with, and why?

All of them! However, belonging rises to the top as it is the emotional outcome of DEIJ work. Everyone wants to belong. When we experience a sense of belonging, it propels a sense of purpose as we move through the different phases of our lives.

What are your hobbies outside of school?

Hobbies: Zumba and reading novels. Interests out of school include volunteering as a trustee at Horizons SF, an organization committed to free summer academic learning and field trips for underserved children. I also enjoy mentoring young educators through the Global Teachers Institute/ Teach With Africa organizations.
