Our Hiring Process

  • Faculty hiring at Town School typically takes place from January through April. Staff positions are filled on an ongoing basis as openings arise.
  • Every application is thoughtfully reviewed and evaluated. Once submitted through our hiring platform, applications are reviewed by the appropriate hiring committee.
  • Qualified candidates are contacted for an initial phone or video interview. Select candidates are then invited to campus to meet with members of the hiring committee and other Town employees relevant to the position. Depending on the role, this may include the Head of School, Division Head(s), Director of Community Building and Inclusion, and/or Director of Teacher Development and Strategic Initiatives.
  • On-campus interviews for student-facing roles also include a demonstration lesson, classroom observations, and discussion of a series of scenarios with the hiring committee.
  • For staff positions, the process typically includes an initial phone interview for qualified candidates, followed by a campus visit and in-person interviews for finalists.
