A team for every boy
Town School’s athletics program is open to all students, regardless of ability or experience. Every boy who wishes to participate has the opportunity to join a school team.
The Athletics Department partners with parents to organize kindergarten through second grade teams and leads school teams from third through eighth grade. School-wide sports typically include soccer, baseball, and basketball, while Upper School offerings also include cross country, golf, track and field, and volleyball.
Athletics Philosophy
Town’s athletics program serves as an extension of the classroom, promoting the school’s values of respect, curiosity, belonging, integrity, and joy while providing an outlet for physical activity and expression. Through participation in athletics, boys develop character, teamwork, and athletic skill.
At Town, there is a team for every boy. With multiple teams offered for many sports and grade levels, athletics remain accessible to students of all abilities and experience levels while supporting a positive and meaningful experience for all players. Boys are encouraged to try a variety of sports and activities, and coaches strive to treat all players fairly while challenging each student to reach his full potential.
At many schools, participation in athletics declines as students grow older or specialize in a single sport. Town sees participation increase across the Upper School as boys gain confidence that athletics is a welcoming place to learn, compete, and belong.
