Marcus received an MA in Education from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Liberal Studies, cum laude, from San Francisco State University. He also has a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. 

Which of the Town School values (respect, curiosity, belonging, integrity and joy) do you most identify with, and why?

Belonging. I think that we all want to be seen and heard and to feel that we are a part of something bigger and better than ourselves. When we feel like we belong, we feel like we can be our most authentic self. We can rise to new heights and make daring and bold choices. When we cultivate a community of belonging, we uplift everyone's experiences, voices and aspirations. 

What are your hobbies outside of school?

Outside of school, I love to find new donut shops, take urban hikes throughout our beautiful city, work on the NYTimes Crosswords in the park, and go on road trips throughout the West on my way to and from Idaho. I also find great joy in being active in local community organizations that support youth in San Francisco in volunteer and leadership roles.
