Admissions Process and Timeline

Please note any child applying to Kindergarten at Town School for the 2026-27 school year must be five years old by July 15th, 2026.

• Access Admissions Process via Ravenna (Required): Please complete an inquiry form and create a file in Ravenna, to gain access to the full admission process and events.

• Parent/Guardian Tour and Learn about Town (Required): We invite you to tour our campus and learn more about Town School for Boys. During the tour you will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, see the boys in action, hear from faculty and staff and engage with current parents. We also encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our curricula, philosophies and programs. 

• Attend Admission Events (Recommended): We have also created a range of opportunities for you to further get to know our school and community. We will host our 8th Grade Voices and Open House event on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 and the Building Belonging event on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. 

• Meet with Brooke Jenkins (Required): Parents/Guardians will meet with the Director of Admission and Financial Assistance, Brooke Jenkins. This meeting provides us with the opportunity to interact personally with each applicant family. You must attend a “Learn About Town” tour before your parent/guardian meeting. We look forward to learning about your family and ask you to plan on spending half an hour with us. Note that if you are applying for more than one child, you need to sign up for only one meeting.

• Submit Application (Required): Application and fee deadline is January 15, 2026. If the application fee presents a hardship for your family, please use the fee waiver code XCC398.

• Submit Admission Documents (Required): The Student Evaluation Form must be completed by your child’s current school and should be submitted via Ravenna. The deadline is January 8, 2026.

• Kindergarten Admission Visit (Required): Kindergarten applicants will be invited to Town School’s campus for a playdate and admission screening. The students will spend 1.5 hours at Town participating in group play, including approximately 10 minutes with a teacher individually, engaging in a variety of verbal, auditory and written tasks appropriate to their development. Visits are scheduled on Saturdays in January. Once you submit your application form and fee you will have access to register for an assessment date and time via Ravenna. 

• Connect and Learn more about Town (Recommended): For those who complete an application we plan to host additional opportunities to connect with our community and continue to learn more about Town in January and February. We will share this information in early January.

• Receive your Admission Decision: Admission decisions will be posted at 12:00 PM on March 19, 2026.

Families interested in applying for financial assistance should submit an application by January 31, 2026. If you would like to learn more about our financial assistance process please visit the Affording Town School section of our website.

The deadline for these forms is January 31, 2026. For those applying to grades 2-4, on the Transcript Release Form we request a minimum of the last two years of report cards or progress reports. 

• Schedule a Student Visit (Required): Our “Tiger for a Day” visits are designated to give applicants a view of the Town experience. During the visit applicants will spend time learning about Town, visiting their current grade and meeting students. An assessment will also be administered that day. These “Tiger for a Day” visits take place in February and the Admission Office will contact you in mid-January to schedule your son’s visit.

The Deadline for the forms is January 31, 2026. On the Transcript Release Form we request a minimum of the last two years of report cards or progress reports, available standardized test scores and district assessments. Usually the school registrar will include these results with the transcripts. The Student Evaluation Form should be completed by two different teachers.
